In this bed slept an editor from the U.S. Justice Department traveling to Savannah to celebrate her 60th birthday. She is looking for the "profound" experiences on this trip. She found them here - a balmy spring afternoon wandering the grounds, a terrific night's sleep (with an owl's hoots fading away as sleep descended), and an unexpected conversation about history…and what it means to be an American that made me cry.
